Deepa Chandrashekaran, LEED AP
Deepa Chandrashekaran graduated from USC’s Master of Building Science program, after completing her training and internship in architecture. Her teaching and research work involves the analysis of passive air movement systems using CFD simulations in comparison with wind tunnel testing. She works with whole building thermal simulations and natural ventilation analysis, assisting with the design decision making process by providing empirical data. She’s skilled at translating data so that the design team from architects to engineers as well as commissioning agents can incorporate the findings into the project development.
She has worked on a range of high performance projects including: a 50,000 sq. ft. LEED Platinum building designed for passive natural ventilation; a 6,000 sq. ft. LEED Platinum Police station with a Solar Chimney passive cooling and ventilation system; Grid Neutral analysis for a 15,000sq. ft. school; and a Net Zero designed public library. She is skilled in software applications including DesignBuilder, EnergyPlus, STAR CCM+, eQuest, Energy-Pro, HEED LBNL Window-6, Climate Consultant, Ecotect Weather Tool, Revit, Radiance, Daysim and AutoCad.
