Michael Bulander spoke at the July 14 ground breaking for Miramar College’s Parking Structure and Public Safety Facility has been getting some well deserved media attention. The project will be the first LEED Platinum certified project for an educational institution in San Diego County. Sustainable design features include a restorative microclimate and a tower design element that serves as a solar chimney. The police station building is designed to achieve Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Platinum Certification from the U.S. Green Building Council, and is on track to be the first LEED Platinum project for a higher education Institution in San Diego County.
